Un acercamiento al fenómeno de los barrios cerrados (Bolivia)
This paper offers an initial overview of gated communities in the metropolitan area of Cochabamba. It explores the city’s fragmentation and the physical, spatial, social, and symbolic factors driving some residents to choose segregated housing.
By examining socio-spatial differentiation in Western cities and Cochabamba, the article outlines the origins of this phenomenon and provides a general view of its characteristics, institutional context, and presence in the area.
